Why I created Zonder Gedoe.

As a chef, I've worked with food my entire life.
But the insight that changed everything didn't come in a restaurant kitchen – it came right at home.

In my own family, I saw it happen time and again.
My mother. My aunts.
Always on diets.

They cooked separately for themselves.
Something "healthy" for them.
Just normal food for the rest of the family.

I can still picture those plates.
A dry steak tartare. Some lettuce next to it.
And then hoping that this time, it would actually be sustainable.

But that's not how food should feel.
Healthy eating shouldn't be a punishment.
And it certainly shouldn't mean a second meal.

I thought: this can be different.
Why do we make it so complicated?

Why do you have to get lost in a spice rack or live on bland plates to eat more consciously?

So I started creating meals as we all know them.
Just normal dinners, but smarter constructed.
